RIVERS JOINERY - TOTNES TIMBER FRAMING AND HERITAGE JOINERY
Book Tree Cottage
Book Tree Cottage is part of a range of farmhouse buildings grade 2* listed. Seventeenth century with a 16th century core. We were asked to survey and repor on the surviving parts of the plank and muntin screen with a view to it's restoration. Only one muntin and the screen's top rail remained. Character oak was sourced and new parts created to match the extant section. The clients were so happy with the results that they engaged us to undertake extensive works on much of the missing/damaged joinery throughout. Book Tree has had a full restoration with many of the previous mistakes rectified. A pleasure to work on such a beautiful historic building.
